CMSgt. Bowden was, throughout his military and civilian careers, intensely involved in the growth and development of the USAF Security Forces career field. Working closely with Senior USAF Staff, and drawing upon lessons learned in Vietnam, Pat set to work on needed adjustments to the training and preparedness of the USAF SF's. Calling upon his management skills, ability to conceptualize future training needs, and the needed physical plant development to support envisioned needs, Pat committed himself to the challenge. As superintendent of the USAF Security Police Academy and, later as the Training Administrator for the 37th Training Group, Pat put procedures in place that would be necessary to ensure the USAF SF’s are prepared to meet the ever expanding challenges of the future. Pat retired in 2004 after a combined 43 years of military and civilian service. |
